The Breath came to life in 2016 with a wonderfully understated and under-the-radar album ‘Carry Your Kin’, released on Peter Gabriel’s Real World Records.  Make no mistake, this is a super-group of sorts, with ex Cinematic Orchestra members Stuart McCallum (guitar), John Ellis (keys), Luke Flower (drums) and fronted by simply one of the most incredible voices, that of Rioghnach Connolly, who has won over the Cloudspotting audience appearing with Honeyfeet the past two years.

‘As much dream-like as it is cathartic’ Best New Bands

The Breath doesn’t bear much likeness to Honeyfeet – this is Rioghnach in a more contemplative light, with a more deliberate and intricate studio feel to the songs.  She has written the lyrics here and Stuart has been the main composer.  ‘Carry Your Kin’, it has been rumoured, has been some six years in the making.  We recommend you clasp your ears around it before seeing them at Cloudspotting.
